Wilmore, KY—First Graduating Class of International Leaders from Beeson Program at Asbury Theological Seminary

The first class International leaders will graduate from the Beeson International Center for Biblical Preaching and Church Leadership at Asbury Theological Seminary. This full-scholarship program provides the resources for international leaders to receive a doctor in ministry degree while still maintaining their leadership positions within their country of origin. This first graduating class represents 11 countries from around the world that are in a variety of leadership positions ranging from educators, medical missionaries, administrators and pastors. The conferring of their degrees will be held at the Asbury Theological Seminary graduation services Saturday, May 19, 2007.

Dr. Randy Jessen, dean of the Beeson International Center for Biblical Preaching and Church Leadership states, “This first graduating class of Beeson International Leaders represent a long line of highly effective Christian leaders serving in impact areas around the world. We are blessed by their Asbury connection."

The Beeson International Center for Biblical Preaching and Church Leadership was created in 1991 from the generous gifts of Ralph Waldo Beeson, a successful insurance executive who put God first in everything. Housed within the Beeson Center are two distinct doctoral programs, the North American pastors program and the International Leadership program.

The International Leadership program selects international leaders who cannot leave their ministries for extended study, but still desire to advance in leadership in order to multiply the Church in their home country. Because of our commitment of the belief that ‘the world is our parish,” Asbury Seminary has created this doctoral track exclusively for international leaders. Our mission is to develop strong, international leaders of leaders.
